I give this Gutsy Gal of the Week acknowledgment to Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein because she is an inspiration to both Tweens & Adult Women. I love how her books for girls bring a special bonding opportunity for Mom & Daughters, or any Adult & Child mentor relationship. I come from a line of strong women and it has helped me to be Gutsy. I heard of Barbara’s Mom being an amazing women as well. We need to be leaders for our next generation and the generations after that. Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein is single handedly making a generational difference for all women today. I applaud her for this.
You can find Barbara doing local readings of her tween books & her adult romance mystery books (which I absolutely could not put down reading!). All of her books can be found on Amazon.

Here is my interview with Barbara:
Can you tell our viewers a little bit about YOU?
I am a psychologist in private practice who specializes in positive psychology and particularly on helping girls, tweens, teens and women develop what I call their ENCHANTED SELF® which is pretty close to your concept of being Gutsy. I am also an author of a number of books designed to inspire and/or teach women how to get back to their Enchanted Selves, i.e. the best parts of themselves have within them that women’s strengths, talents, potential and her capacity to be happy, to have fun. My books for girls are The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween and Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen. For women, Recipes for Enchantment, The Secret Ingredient is YOU!; Delight; THE ENCHANTED SELF, A Positive Therapy; Seven Gateways to Happiness, Freeing Your Enchanted Self; Feel Good Stories by my mom, Bernice Becker; and even a romance mystery: Around Every Corner, Romance and Mystery….
Four Pointers to a Happy Life: A Tango Quickie Video:
What makes you a Gutsy Gal?
I bounce back. In other words, if one avenue doesn’t work out, I try another. If one idea doesn’t catch on I reframe it or look for another idea. I am persistent. I know that what I teach girls and women is very helpful, building self-esteem, resiliency, positive self-regard, courage, gumption, judgment skills, etc. and I am determined to keep teaching via any means I can get my hands on-videos, stories, books, newsletters, speaking engagements, skyping, webinars, etc.
In your experience, How does it/did it feel to be Gutsy?
It feels better to be Gutsy than to be cowardly. At times it has been hard to not give up. But giving up would have felt worse. Being Gutsy feels great in that I know I am true to my self, my own purpose in life.
What would you say is an important thing you’ve learned?
Not to let anyone convince me that I should be someone other than myself. I’ve learned that everyone else is taken and I might as well dance to my own tune. It is a pretty good song!
Finally, What does BEING A GUTSY GAL mean to you?
Action, purpose, direction, courage, plans, accomplishments, happiness, Enchantment All Around!
